DMV Cars & Coffee

Come for the cars — you'll come back for the people.

Guide

A short tour of what this site can do. Skim, or jump to whatever you need.

Browse and filter the calendar

The homepage lists every upcoming event in the next few weeks, grouped by date. The toolbar above the list lets you search by title or location, narrow by state (DC, MD, PA, VA), filter by category, or show only ★ Editor's picks.

Filters live in the URL — share a filtered view by copying the address bar. Useful for sending “Maryland cruise-ins this month” to a friend.

Add an event to your calendar

Every event card has an Add to calendar button (the small calendar icon on the bottom right of the card and on the event detail page). Click it for one-click adds to Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook, plus a download for an .ics file that works with any other calendar app (Fastmail, Proton, etc.).

For recurring events, “Add to calendar” adds the next upcoming occurrence — open the event detail page if you want to grab a different date.

Share an event

The Share button on each card copies a direct link to the event detail page. On mobile it triggers the native share sheet so you can send straight to Messages, WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, or wherever your car friends live.

Links posted to Facebook get a preview card with the event flyer, title, and date — no need to upload anything yourself.

Install as an app on your phone

Adding DMV Cars & Coffeeto your home screen turns it into a real app — full-screen launch (no browser bar), an icon next to your other apps, and pages you've already visited load instantly even when you have no signal.

iPhone (Safari)

Tap the Share button at the bottom of Safari (the square with an arrow pointing up). Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add. The icon appears on your home screen.

Android (Chrome)

After you've been on the site for a minute or so, an Install banner appears at the bottom of the page. Tap it. If you missed the banner, open the three-dot menu and choose Install app.

Desktop (Chrome / Edge)

Click the install icon in the address bar (right side) — it looks like a small monitor with a down-arrow. Confirm to install.

To uninstall, long-press the icon on your home screen and choose remove, the same way you would any other app.

See events on the map

The Mapbutton at the top of the homepage shows every event in the next 7 days as a pin, colored by category. Useful for “what's near me this weekend?”

Recurring events show a single pin anchored at the next upcoming occurrence; tap a pin to jump to that event's detail page.

Get the weekly email digest

Tap Get the digestin the top utility strip and drop in your email. We send a short summary of the upcoming weekend's events every Thursday morning — no daily spam, no sharing your address with anyone, and an unsubscribe link in every message.

Submit your own event

Anyone can suggest an event at /submit. Fill in the basics — title, date, location, a short description — and optionally upload a flyer image. Editors review every submission before it lands on the public calendar (usually within a day or two), and you'll get an email when the decision is made.

Recurring meets are welcome — you only have to submit once. Use the recurrence options to set the cadence (every Saturday, third Sunday, etc.) and the calendar will keep generating future occurrences automatically.

Editor's picks

Events with a ★ badge have been hand-picked by an editor — usually because they're a strong first stop for someone new to the scene, or because they're a once-a-year kind of event you shouldn't miss. The editor's short note appears under the title.

To see only the picks, tap the ★ Editor's picks chip in the homepage toolbar.
